Women's Wednesday: Lady Gaga

Welcome to another Women's Wednesday! We'll give focus to an incredible woman in the world who is using her platform for good, and promoting sustainability among other ways to keep our planet happy, healthy, and whole. Today's spotlight goes to the enigmatic pop star, and recent performer at the recent presidential inauguration, Lady Gaga!

Lady Gaga, otherwise known as Stefani Germanotta, has been everywhere in pop culture since her debut in 2008. She's a singer, actress, humanitarian, and activist, who's using her massive platform to fight for human rights worldwide. Her extensive philanthropy and social activism includes work related to mental health awareness and LGBT rights. Gaga founded the Born This Way Foundation in 2012, a non-profit organization that focuses on empowering youth, improving mental health, and preventing bullying.

She recently sang the national anthem at last week's presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. With the current political unrest, it was a tense and unpredictable moment in history. Before her performance, she tweeted a picture of the gold dove attached to her dress with the words: "A dove carrying an olive branch. May we all make peace with each other."

We couldn't agree more. We hope our personal piece, the Peace Dove necklace (inspired by the 16th Sustainable Development Goal), will support her message for a brighter future.
