Women's Wednesday: Kamala Harris

Welcome to another Women's Wednesday! We'll give focus to an incredible woman in the world who is using her platform for good, and promoting sustainability among other ways to keep our planet happy, healthy, and whole. Today's spotlight goes to the new vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris! 

With Kamala Harris being inaugurated into the White House this Wednesday, she will be the United States' first female vice president, the highest-ranking female elected official in U.S. history, and the first African American and first Asian American vice president. It's a huge step forward for both female and POC representation and leadership within politics. 

Her path will not be an easy one, but we're excited to witness history as this influential figure continues to forge exciting new paths.

"My mother would look at me and she’d say, 'Kamala, you may be the first to do many things, but make sure you are not the last,'" Harris said, recalling the motto that's guided her life. "That’s why breaking those barriers is worth it. As much as anything else, it is also to create that path for those who will come after us."
