"Travel far, pay no fare, let a story take you there."
What have you been reading lately? In these strange times, there's nothing better than retreating into the warm comforts of a good book. In fact, a 2009 study found that reading can reduce stress by up to 68%. It's an easy comfort to binge your favourite TV show before going to bed, but why not dust off that book that's been sitting on your bedside table tonight, and try diving into a few chapters? Your brain will thank you.
Did you know that today is World Book Day? Starting in 1995, this day was created to help encourage the younger generations to discover the wonder world of books. World Book Day founder, Gail Rebuck, said “We wanted to do something to reposition reading and our message is the same today as it was then – that reading is fun, relevant, accessible, exciting, and has the power to transform lives.” Celebrate today by sharing your favourite book with others in-person or online, or visit your local library to find a new novel to fall in love with!
