Keep It Simple And Sustainable This Valentine's Day
February is a complicated month. For some, it's that last final push through winter, as we stumble through those chilly snowstorms or constant downpours. But for others, it's all about the love.
Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away, and with many social activities like dining out, spas, and more being unavailable, many are scrambling to find a fresh new idea to celebrate the day of love during a time of lockdown.
Our advice? Keep it simple, and sustainable.
Every year, millions of cards are sent around to our loved ones for V-Day, and billions of dollars are spent on lavish gifts that are coated in plastic, glitter, and other unsustainable materials. We may be showing love for that certain someone, but it's not showing much love for the environment.
If you have a special person that you're wanting to celebrate with on February 14th, look around at what you have for your Valentine's activities. Cook a romantic meal, plan a hike with a gorgeous view, or show some compassion with a gifted charity donation. And when it comes to gifts, put some focus this year into what exactly you're buying. Look into companies that produce sustainable, low-waste products that aim to help make the world a little better. At the end of the day, it's the thought that counts, and your special Valentine will know that.
How will you be celebrating Valentine's Day this year?
