Happy Halloween! Here's A List Of Spooky Movies and TV Shows To Watch

People are often mixed on Halloween. Some love the spooky vibe of dressing up and running amuck on a chilly autumn's eve, while others much prefer to stay in, chill with some friends and watch a scary movie. This week, I'm leaning towards the second option. It's a Wednesday night and I'm fighting off a cold! Lucky for me and all my fellow stay-inners, we have a treasure trove of fun, spooky stuff for watching so you can pass the time while trick-or-treaters come by. Need some suggestions? I've got you covered:

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix TV Series)

Remember Archie comics? And how it got turned into the melodramatic teen soap Riverdale? Sabrina the Teenage Witch has gotten the same treatment, but with much scarier results. This new Netflix show follows teenage Sabrina Spellman, a half-witch who must decide on her birthday whether or not she wants to devote her soul to "The Dark Lord" and become a full-time magical being. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a fun romp through what's basically a Halloween amusement park. The show can lean on the scary side at times, but otherwise its a bewitching good time.

Death Becomes Her (1992)

This dark comedy movie has everything you need. Meryl Streep! Bruce Willis! Goldie Hawn! When feuding superstars (Streep and Hawn) go to war over fame and love, things take a turn for the supernatural when they both take an immortality potion, with horrifying and hilarious results. Don't worry about being too scared here, Death Becomes Her focuses far more on camp than frights.

The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix TV Series)

What is a ghost to you? A terrifying spectre that flies around your house causing horror? Or a lost memory of someone you once knew, staying as a reminder of times gone by? This chilling Netflix series follows the Craine family, who moved into the infamous Hill House when they were children, and the terrifying ghostly encounters that stayed with them as adults. Be warned, this is probably the scariest thing on this list. The Haunting of Hill House is unrelenting in its horrific scares, and deep look into grief and trauma. The show boasts incredible performances and visuals, and is top of my list for best TV of 2018. You've been warned!

Ginger Snaps (2000)

A hidden Canadian horror gem, Ginger Snaps is about oddball, outcast sisters Ginger and Brigitte. After Ginger suffers a bite from a violent and mysterious creature in the forest, the film's title takes on several different meanings. Ginger Snaps is heavy on the metaphors regarding female transformation and rage, but also provides a solid and scary werewolf film for Halloween night.

The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell (Netflix TV Series)

Here's something a little different. Have you heard of Christine McConnell? She's a home decorator and visual artist with a killer Instagram. She's recently landed her own Netflix show where she teaches viewers how to make all sorts of things from Chicken Pot Pie, Ginger-Dead Cookies, Peppermint Bark Horns, hand-carved candles and more! Check this out if you want to improve your baking and home decor skills, with a dash of Halloween magic.

What are your favourite things to do on Halloween? Have a fun night!
