Winter Sun - Monaco

Monaco is the perfect place to escape the cold. Its quiet and small, with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea, and a glass of champagne is never far away.

There is a surprisingly large choice of restaurants, many of which will give you an excuse to dig out your stilettos and put on that red lip.

A favourite is the new Indian Maya Jah which serves delicious indian food, and is beautifully decorated.

Its sister restaurant Maya Bay is equally fabulous, with its Japanese and Thai menu. The style notes are opulent and the vibe is fun.

For a night-cap head to The American Bar in Hotel de Paris. The atmosphere with its live band is totally old-school glamour. You might even run into Prince Albert there!

Stay at the exquisite Hotel Metropole and you will feel you have entered a different world. Christmas decorations are done by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Alber Elbaz.

Spend your time strolling around the tiny principality and take in the views. The light is lovely and the sea air will do you good.
